Read the bill???

I haven't blogged much, maybe I will start again, but this one caught my eye. Mr. Conyers, you read the bill because it is your job to read the bill. Pretty simple to me...

Now this is scary

For those of you who had no problem with North Korea getting Nukes, and still have no problem with Iran getting Nukes, check this out.

It seems that NK decided to change from "They are for defense only" to "If you offend us we will nuke you."

This is crazy, and I blame an incredibly weak United Nations for this turn of events. The UN is supposed to protect us from this sort of thing, and yet, the agencies responsible seem to always 'miss' the nuclear work being done. This isn't a right or a left thing, well, unless you are left enough to think that the brand f communism in NK is a god thing, this is a human thing. We have to do everything we can, and that includes military intervention, to stop these insane regimes from acquiring nukes.

When Iran has them, we can say good bye to Israel, that has been promised, at least Kim has only hinted at wiping out Seoul.

Happy Mothers Day

Hey, if there are any mothers out there that read this silliness, especially my own, and my loverly, wonderful wife, Happy Mothers day!
None of us would be here without you!

Confused

the favorite thing for the current administration, and thier minions in the press (or is it the other way around?) is that we are in the worst economic times since the Great Depression. Can someone please explain this headline to me then?

U.S. jobless rate hits 25-year high

Once again, as I have been saying, things were worse following the Carter years, and if Mr. Obama keeps it up, then we can argue about who was worse, him or Jimmy Carter. I will NEVER defend the spending of Mr. Bush, so don't come with that.

Tax Cuts for the Rich???

One of my favorite things to debunk in the last eight years was the tax cuts for the rich meme. It was BS then, it is still BS. Here is an article, sent to me by a friend, that explains it much better than me.

Imagine, the 'rich' got a 12% cut, and the 'poor' 25% or more. Sure sounds like a cut for the rich to me!!

I even tried to explain it once to another friend, using simple numbers, and he still didn't get it, he still felt that the people who make the most money should pay way more than thier fair share, while the poor pay nothing, taking all the time. Insanity it is, insanity I say.

Oh, and now, the same crowd that was screaming about Bush and his cuts are mum when it comes to Mr. Obama and his tax hikes. Please people, think about this for a minute or two:

The Federal Governement makes about 30% on a gallon of gas, the oil companies make about 9% on a gallon of gas...who is gouging us?

Explanation of sorts

Hey dear readers, all 20 of you. Sorry for the dearth of posts, it is that time of year when I am so busy my head wants to explode. Add to that the tiresome nature of posting bad news all the time and I just don't feel up to even coming here. I will try the positive stuff again, I know, i have tried this before and it didn't work, but what the heck, life is full of repeats, just read the rise and fall of the Roman Empire and compare it to the United...oh, drat, positive, positive, positive!

I saw The Dead over the weekend, awesome show, really, better than some of the last shows with Jerry, RIP, on point and jammin'. Warren is a great fit, and the rst of the band are playing like they are only 40 or so!

Swine flu, I was right about that one, stop panicking, it is over before it started. I am also tiring of the doom and gloom on both sides of the political aisle.

Good riddance to Arlen, he jumped parties to get elected once before, and here he is doing it again. Google Ira Einhorn to learn how left leaning Arlen really is...

Okay, that is all for now, off to the library and to bid a job, in the rain!

I tried

I really did, I tried to ignore his glaring faults and accept him as the President, but this is beyond the pale:

President Barack Obama marked his 100th day in office by telling Americans that “we’ve begun the work of remaking America.”

Go remake some other country, fool, America is the greatest nation in the history of the world. I can not understand why a man who became President hates this country so much. This is....I can't even...Too.Pissed.To.Type.

Not sure if I did this yet...

"Gimme a .308 and a shot gun...I'll be doin' fine underneath the pines, while the world goes down the drain"

Montgomery Gentry

"Swim out past the breakers and watch the world die"

Everclear

Nope, not me. I refuse to watch as things end. No, forget it. Deal with things, fix what you can, fight for what is right, fight for what you want.
Stop standing by while crap happens to people, stop allowing others to hurt. Fix what you can, try to fix things you think you can't.
Stop giving up so easily, join in, pitch in, help out. Fix those things that are broken, those things that have needed fixing for a long time.
Don't take it anymore, not for one more second.
Live right.

Unions

Think about this for a minute:
Unions started for a great reason, to ensure that workers were not taken advantage of in the workplace. Safety was one of the main reasons and quality was another. Now, things have changed. Tell a union worker he/she has to wear safety glasses in an area or a plant where they have not been previously required and it takes an act of God. Or, tell a union worker that he/she must get a certification to keep the job...forget it, they all want grandfathered, not me they say, I can do the job wihtout the schooling, wihtout the new training, without proving that I know what I am doing, and the union will fight for them. Nuts. Absolutely. Freaking. Nuts.

Oh, and try to change something for the betterment of the workers...forget about it, no constructive help from the union, just crappy attacks and useless ad hominem.

Screw 'em all.

I am not a racist

Okay, I have your attention, I used the R word. This post is going to sound racist, or ethno-centric, or jingoistic, or whatever the heck it is called these days to demand that our government secure our borders.
No, I don't give a crap about the pig flu, and I think that when drug dealers kill each other, the world is a better place (innocents that get caught in the cross-fire are worthy of our sympathy though, which is why the authorities should be killing drug dealers, but that is another post).

This is about the question of keeping our laws, about not being hypocritical, and about being safe (secure) in our persons. That's right, the government is violating the 4th amendment by not securing our borders, we are no longer safe here in America, no longer safe from law-breakers from south of our border. How many more women need to be raped by illegal aliens?
How many drugs will be sold by illegal aliens?
I started with the racism thing because many people are going to figure I don't like Mexicans. Well that is Bullsh*&. It isn't my fault that most of the criminals in the stories I linked to are Mexican, it just happens to be so. No, not all Mexicans are criminals, and not all crime is committed by Illegal Aliens, but, the very nature of ILLEGAL alien is criminal. So if they break those laws, they seem to think the rest of our laws don't matter either. How about auto insurance? Nope, just another silly American law that only Americans are forced to follow. Think about it, if you are a legal citizen caught whithout insurance you are fined and you license is taken away, if you are an illegal alien ( a lawbreaker by definition) you are offered a license regardless of insurance status in some states.
Okay, rant off, too long of a post...

Randomness

So I am thinking that because it is raining and I can not work on the wall I might as well type some random stuff. Should I link to things? I probably should, but that can be so tedious. Oh well, here goes nothing:

Mr. Obama was taken to task, along with our Country, by some two bit dictators down in the Southern Hemisphere over the weekend and did nothing about it. Tsk, Tsk, Mr. President, this is your Country too ya know, when they dis the United States, they are dissing you and your family too.

The racism conference in Durban as going well, if you are an Arab dictator, the rest of the world has mostly walked away realizing finally that laying all the problems at the feet of Israel is stupid. One little country nestled among the leading terrorist exporters is not the problem, radical clerics that want to kill anyone that does not bow to allah are the problem.

I don't mind rain so much, I hate wind and rain though, especially cold wind and rain!

A quiet home is nice, I love my family!

My dog is nuts though, and gets nuttier by the month as she enters these final years of her much too short life.

Facebook is addicting, much like the old chat rooms of AOL were addicting.

Stop it, stop it NOW

Yanno what? The loony right has finally come full circle and have met the loony left. I blame Ron Paul, but, hey, it isn't just him, there are plenty of nuts to go around. The tea parties were a great idea, then they get reported by a leftist media, and I find people defending the nuts that the media pointed out. Wouldn't it be better to simply say, "yeah, a few nuts showed up, but they do not represent our party?" When pushed we then mention ANSWER and CODE PINK, the loons that try to take over left-wing protests. Some of those left-wingers have brains and are not as extreme as the groups I mentioned, really, they are just misguided, or misinformed, that is all, not truly evil like ANSWER.

So relax people, we will win with a sane message, we need to stop yellign about Gold standards and civil war, we need to firmly point out the socialist agenda of this administration, and we need to do so in a way that does not cause the eyes of the apathetic to glaze over, again.

Talk to people who do not vote, don't scream at them, just explain how the policies of Mr. Obama are going to ruin the nation if allowed to become entrenched. Leave out baloney about birth certificates, leave out baloney about imaginary Homeland Security officers coming after people based on political persauasion, and stay away feom anything remotely associated with the end of the world. If you beleive that stuff, great, but keep it to yourself, don't try to sell it to the middle, they are not buying, and if they sit out again, we are headed for socialism, which is much worse than a President with shady documentation.

Stay on point, stay focused people, it is time to take the country back, to help sane representatives represent, but it is also time to remove the ones who are not there for us, time to vote the bums out, not matter what party, no matter how much moneyt they have broguht home!

Friday night

Long day, no problem really, just a long day. Our President and our Sec. State have decided to legitimize the failed communist state of Cuba, woo hoo, that is going to go a long way in proving to us that Mr. Obama is not a socialist bordering on a communist!

Watching the Flyers and the Phillie's while listening to the ipod, life is good, would only be better if the family was here, or maybe some long lost friends!

Libraries

I love the liberry, here I am, killing time, looking for reading material, FREE reading material, and taking a minute to post on this blog from a free computer. I am so tired of people saying there is no accesst to information, right behind me are thousands of books and right at my fingertips is all the informaiton in the world. The bus stops right out front, poor people ride the bus for free...no more excuses!

Here is a pitch though, donate to your local library when you can, it sure helps them out!

Music

So I love music, it drives me, it is the background to my life. For that though, it can't be too heavy, it can't be jangly, and it can't be punky. Those genres have their places, just not too close to me. I am sorry if that bothers my friends, I just need it to be more mellow now.

Yeah, I can leave the Black Sabbath and Ozzy on the Ipod, and there is A7X as well as MCR, but sometimes I skip them, yeah, I do. There is country on there, classical, and even some Frank Sinatra.

Life is different, the heavy stuff is hard to write to, the heavy stuff is hard to lay stone with, and the heavy stuff is hard to live to.

I must be old.

Busy

I know, I know, I finally began to post at least once a day, built the following up to about 6 readers, and then dropped of the planet! Sorry about that, it is just spring in Chester County and I am way busy.
Baseball, work, side-work, and life are keeping me from typing here, I will try, honest I will, but I can not be as prolific as I was when the shoulder was healing.

Thanks for stopping in!

Free form lunacy

I am getting a little tired of the links I post being downers again, much like when I tried to find positive stories about islam. That petered out real quick for some reason, oh well.

There seems to be a lull in good news, I wonder why the fact that that DOW is over 8000 is not being splashed everywhere? Is it because we hate capitalism so much we will allow the economy to continue to tank so we can intall socialism? If everyone knows that the stock market is coming back, then everyone won't be as happy to have the wealth shared?

I know that if you take money from those that work and give it to those that do not work, sooner or later those that do not work will outnumber those that do, it is common sense.

Cold and rainy here in Chester County pa, back to dong nothing.

Rights or privileges

I was listening to NPR on the way home from work tonight, the topic was gay marriage, I really don't care one way or the other about that, just so churches are backed when they refuse to marry two men or two women against the faith of the church. Anyway, the gay man, yes, he was a gay man, was arguing some point or another and he made the statement that abortion was a 'legal right'. That got me thinking.

No, abortion is not a right, it is legal and it is a privilege. You can get an abortion, but someone has to pay for it. It struck me at that very moment that if you have to pay for something it is no longer a right, surely not an 'inalienable right endowed to us by our creator'.

For instance, one has the right to go from here to California, by walking. Every other mode of transportation is a privilege. We have a right to be secure in our person and property, if we can afford that property, we do not have the right to the property.

Too man people claim that they have the 'right' to one thing or another, it just is not so. People need to grow the heck up.

Americans Vs. The World

Here is the main difference between Americans and the rst of the World. We are strong, we do not pay ransoms, and we know that our government will not pay a ransom, therefore:
US crew members have retaken their hijacked ship but their captain is still being held by Somali pirates on a lifeboat, reports say.

Not like the other countries

the above link is to a google page that will then take you to a huge number of ransoms paid by wimp nations.

Life

Such an interesting time, so much to think about, so much to do, and yet, it seems as if there is nothing to be done. Is our government really changing, or did it change long ago and we are just now noticing. Think about it for a minute with me, when things are good, we ignore the small, incremental changes around us, we just let them happen, thinking that those changes do not affect us. In the'30's it was the WPA, small changes that allowed some to go to work, others to continue working, and still others to pay for that work.
Social Security, a small change that has seem a myriad of small changes over the years, even FDR would be shocked at the extent we have allowed government to rule our 'golden' years.
Parks and public land, incremental changes that resulted in the Supreme Court upholding the taking of land from a private citizen to be given to another private citizen so that citizen #2 could make money.
Yup, we have allowed this to happen to ourselves, and the bringing it back is going to be painful.

we can do this, we have that unique make-up that gives us the drive to fix things, and we are broken, we need fixed.

We all need a little Joy!

Treason

Treason includes "aid and comfort to our enemies," and if the following statement is not Treason, nothing is. This statement was not made some basic citizen on the public square in America, not was it made by an American hating Frenchman in France. The statement was made by the American President while talking in a foreign nation...

President Barack Obama has offered an apology for the Bush era, declaring that America had “shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive” towards its allies.

Oh, and the failure to recognize the leadership of europe...this guy is trying so hard to destroy our country. Maybe he should have used this language during the campaign...

Wonderful

So now I know why Mr. Obama kept Gates around, he is a clueless as our President is. One of the activities that the federal government is constitutionally required to do is secure our nation, not schools, not banks, not hire and fire ceos of auto companies, but simple security. So why is our Secretary of Defense telling the world we are 'not prepared' to counteract the upcoming launch of a North Korean Missle.

Gates: U.S. Not Prepared to Respond to North Korea Missile Launch

This is bad, even I know that the answer to the question is: I can't discuss that.

This administration is worse than I thought it was going to be.

This makes my head hurt

Terror inmates may be released in US: intel chief

Oh, and they are going to give them welfare too:
President Barack Obama's intelligence chief confirmed Thursday that some Guantanamo inmates may be released on US soil and receive assistance to return to society.

"If we are to release them in the United States, we need some sort of assistance for them to start a new life," said National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair at his first press conference.

"You can't just put them on the street," he added. "All that is work in progress."

I wonder if they will be drug tested?

Missed a day

I missed yesterday, anyone that knows what is going on in my life at the moment understands why. Hey, I did get concrete poured in Cheney, not bad for a guy 9 weeks out of a rotator cuff repair!
So I didn't gather any interesting news articles to gripe about, that is, until today.

The first is this: Rahm Emanuel's profitable stint at mortgage giant
we all know that if this had been a republican it would be wall to wall news, but it is not, so it is not news. Heck George Bush stood next to Ken Lay once and the news talked about it for days. Crooks, thieves, and cheats, that is the administration y'all elected, once again, I hope you are happy.

Then, I came across this: States consider drug tests for welfare recipients And figured that maybe some important people are reading my blog!
Lawmakers in at least eight states want recipients of food stamps, unemployment benefits or welfare to submit to random drug testing.

It is about time, I had to take a drug test to get the job that pays for their welfare, it only makes sense that they should be tested to take my money!

more Press Conference

I do agree that if the embryo is going to be discarded, if the family agrees, it can be used, by the PRIVATE sector of the science community.

Rita's water ice has arrived, more important than this liar.

end of the press conference

uh, uh, uh, ummm

Did I get it?

talking about regulating, that means taking over as linked to below.
Image in the world? They are laughing at us, at him especially.

No need for global currency

Politico??? Cut mortgage rates for charities?

He is campaigning again, what is going on here. The 95% number again...what is he talking about, only 40% of the people in the country pay taxes. I am sick of the lies.

Why does the President think it is a good thing to foment class warfare?

Ruining the charitable contributions. BS, more than 1%, I deduct it you idiot, I am not rich.

Fair? what about crack heads that do not have to take a drug test to get welfare? is that fair to me?

He is going to help chairities by taxing the rich more...dumb.

1 in 50 children are homeless? Tent cities? BS

This whole thing is a setup, a socialistic setup. I want to see the data on the 1 in 50 number, that is a huge lie. It must be based on rent numbers...homeowners.

everyone knows that there are fewer...shoot, he just mentioned veterens, when they have to pay for thier own health care, they will be more homeless.

Some suprised woman...wants to talk about race...are you black? do you talk about being black?

I think I want to puke.

Washington Times...more lies about stem cells, like he was the first to federally funded stem cells, Bush was the first. Adult stem cells are working, this is a science issue, not a government issue, and federal funds should not be used. Maybe tax breaks, but not funds.

It is called 'nationalization',

Or, for those of you who are not paying attention, it is the first step towards COMMUNISM, skipping right over socialism.

The Obama administration is considering asking Congress to give the Treasury secretary unprecedented powers to initiate the seizure of non-bank financial companies, such as large insurers, investment firms and hedge funds, whose collapse would damage the broader economy, according to an administration document.

I freakin' hope those of you who voted for the man are happy, we warned you.

Montgomery Gentry - While The World Goes Down The Drain lyrics

(Jim Rushing/Keith Sewell)

Some kids grew up on mean streets
Dealin' with the crips and bloods
But me I was born on a back road
In a 4X4 rollin' through the mud

The street kid deals with the dealer
And he's always watchin' his back
Me, I'm watchin' a line, with a woman of mine
Down by the creek bank shack

Give me .308 and a shotgun
And a gallon of homemade wine
Drop me off on a mountainside
Where the bear and the deer reside
I'll spend my nights sittin' round the fire
Makin' this guitar ring
I'll be doin' fine underneath the pines
While the world goes down the drain

Just to dwell on life in the city
Is makin' my blood run cold
'Cause miles and miles of concrete
Eats away at the human soul

When you live and die in the country
There's a little that your heart can mourn
With your hands in the dirt and a little work
You can weather out any storm

Give me .308 and a shotgun
And a gallon of homemade wine
Drop me off on a mountainside
Where the bear and the deer reside
I'll spend my nights sittin' round the fire
Makin' this guitar ring
I'll be doin' fine underneath the pines
While the world goes down the drain

I'll be doin' fine underneath the pines
While the world goes down the drain

Lyrics | Montgomery Gentry lyrics - While The World Goes Down The Drain lyrics

Read the second post below to understand why I posted this. There is no video on you tube.

Santa Monica

Not a great version but the only one I could find that was legal to post here.

Read the post below to understand why I put it up.

Interesting thought

I was working today, had the I-pod on speakers, and caught a Montgomery-Gentry song with the lyrics:
I'll be doin' fine underneath the pines
While the world goes down the drain

Which then made me think of the Everclear song with the lyics:
Swim out past the breakers
Watch the world die

Not me, sure, I like those songs, but not the sentiment of watching while the world goes down. I guess I must be a doer, a person that is going to fight for the things that have meaning to me. One of those things is the United States, another is this planet we live on. We can save our Country, and the world will follow. Just do not sit back and let things happen, go out and make them happen.
Yeah, this little blog isn't much, and I have trouble getting even my family to read it, but I guarantee that it is read by someone in the White House. Every time I mention the name of the President, I bet some little bell goes off and some staffer in the basement logs in to make sure I am not some insane right wing nut.
I am not, by the way, I just enjoy life in a free society and am deathly afraid of socialism and communism, both have been tried, both have killed millions, and both have failed.

Okay, back on point. Do not just sit abound, join something and make a difference, even if it is as simple as a scout troop or a street clean up crew.

Some Chili's

Obama Kisses Iranian Butt

ON the occasion of the Persian New Year, President Barack Obama has videotaped a personal statement to the Iranian people which is being portrayed in the Western media as a significant change

This article is in the Arab News...earlier, right after the speech, the Arab News was all over the greeting, lapping it up as the appeasement that it was. Now:

One may well agree that improving relations between the two countries “will not be advanced by threats”, but who has been threatening whom? Has Iran been threatening a “preventive” (i.e., unprovoked and aggressive) attack on the United States? Has Iran been insisting that “military action” remains “on the table” if the United States does not bow to Iranian demands? One may also agree that no country’s “rightful place in the community of nations” should be reached “through terror and arms”. Yet it is the United States which brought “shock and awe” (the American marketing term for “terror” when unleashed by the United States) to the region six years ago this month, and it is the United States which spends more on arms than the rest of the world combined.

Oh, and let us not forget that this article was written by an Israeli hating scum-bucket.

EFCA, anything but

Three of America’s biggest brand-name companies — Costco, Starbucks and Whole Foods — are reportedly planning to announce an alternative next week to the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA), which would help workers organize much more easily into unions if passed.

This is nuts, at least the opponents come back with the truth:

“Every worker in America has the right to a secret ballot vote in union-organizing elections, free from intimidation or recrimination,” said Katie Packer, executive director of the Workforce Fairness Institute. “Calling a proposal which exposes 70 percent of employees to intimidation instead of 50 percent a ‘compromise’ is beyond absurd.”

We, as citizens, have the right to a secret ballot, only those who are in an elected position vote openly, that way, the people who elected them can hold them accountable.
This 'card check' opens up intimidation on both sides of the issue, how can that be right?

It just keeps coming

The Obama administration will call for increased oversight of executive pay at all banks, Wall Street firms and possibly other companies as part of a sweeping plan to overhaul financial regulation, government officials said.

NY Times, not politico, not some right wing blog, but the NY Times.

HE CAN NOT REGULATE EXECUTIVE PAY.

This is insane, when will it end?

Link Dump

Go read them, I am too sick and tired of what is going on to even comment on some of this:

Pelosi Tells Illegal Immigrants That Work Site Raids are Un-American what is it about the word ILLEGAL she doesn't understand?

$750 billion "green" investment could revive economy: U.N. Well now, it didn't work here yet, and we have spent over a trillion. Oh, and the money will come from an oil tax, which will be passed on to those who buy gas and oil...which will wreck the economy. Freaking idiots.

EXCLUSIVE: Obama's $500,000 book bonanza
From the link:
analysts say there don't appear to be any rules that would bar such transactions after a president takes office, but it's unclear whether an incoming or sitting president has ever signed a book deal upon entering the White House.

"I don't recall any sitting president entering into a book deal," said campaign finance lawyer Jan Baran, former general counsel to the Republican National Committee. "They all have historically done that after they leave office.

More crap from Mr. Obama, he is a celebrity, not a President.

Socialism

"Recipients of these bonuses will not be able to keep all of their money," declared Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in an unusually strong threat delivered on the Senate floor.

"If you don't return it on your own, we will do it for you," echoed Chuck Schumer of New York.

Our elected leaders want to take money away from private citizens, just because they feel bad about the bonus situation. The bonuses were contracted payments, they can not be taken away.

This is driving me nuts, take away all the welfare payments when anyone on assistance is caught with drugs, when the government starts to do that, well, then they can mess with these bonuses, until then, shut up.

UPDATE

The house voted to steal the money back from the people who earned it. This is insane, our government simply deciding that certain American citizens are to be taxed at special rates?

what is going on?

Pardon Me?

I think I need a "Joe said what?" post every week, just to try and figure out where our Vice President is coming from. Here is his latest:

Biden said President Obama "has inherited the most difficult first 100 days of any president, I would argue, including Franklin Roosevelt."

The he compounds it and says:

“Let me explain what I mean by that," he added. "It was clear the problem Roosevelt inherited. This is a more complicated economic [problem]. We’ve never ever been here before – here or in the world. Never ever been here before."

So, let me get this straight, Jan 2008, unemployment at 75, Jan. 1933, unemployment rate was over 20%, and it stayed there all year, actually going up!

This is not the Great Depression, as I have written too many times to count. Look outside you house right now, how many cars does your family own?

I am going nuts, I guess the idea is to pretend that the world is over, right now, this is the worst ever, ever, ever, so that as long as we are alive at the end of the yead, Mr. Obama can be labeled as the greatest President of all time.

Mr. Biden needs to learn a little historym, and for that matter, so do the people in the media, where are the reporters lambasting him for being so uninformed? He is the Vice President, for petes sake, he should know this stuff.

Jus' Sayin'

Here we go, the headline reads:
Amid AIG Furor, Dodd Tries to Undo Bonus Protections He Put In

And the article points of that Chris Dodd, senator from Connecticut, where AIG is headquarted, received over $100,000 last year in campaign contributions from AIG. Now, he added a surprise amendment to the stimulus package that exempted any contractual bonus from scrutiny if it was prior to Feb 2009.

I wonder if there is anything to this?

I'm sorry, but this strikes me as rather funny, really, can the Mexican government be serious?
Mexico to impose sanctions on US exports

So this is all about Mr. Obama and the dems kissing teamster butt, I don't actually care why, I like the fact that they stood up to Mexico and killed the crap that Clinton created with NAFTA. No Mexican trucks in America, sounds good to me, but for Mexico to suggest tariffs over this is hilarious.
I'll tell you what Mexico, take back those 12 million citizens of yours that you have dumped on us and then we'll talk about tariffs. Oh, and don't they realize it is the damn lettuce that the illegals are picking that is going to cost more money in Mexico now? which will lower the demand for lettuce...which will lower the demand for pickers...which will send back...Oh, wait a minute...Tariff away!!!!

Think about something here...

Obama: AIG can't justify 'outrage' of exec bonuses

So we all all up in arms about tax money going to bonuses that were earned by these guys due to clauses in contracts. Let us simply forget that we are talking about a billion dollar company and the bonuses are in the millions. Let us forget that even if the companies we work for are doing poorly, we all want our Christmas bonus, and most of all, let us all forget welfare.

Yeah,I said welfare. I am not allowed to demand that the men and women in Coatesville Pa who are on welfare take drug tests before getting my tax dollars. We all know that some of those people are spending taxpayer money on drugs, yet say that out loud and you are labeled. Personally I am sick of it.

So, from now on, when someone says to you that it is a bad thing that AIG is spending millions on bonuses, mention that welfare losers are spending millions on drugs. The drugs hurt the country, the bonuses will help, they will be spent, drug money goes back to Mexico, South America, or the Middle East.

Yeah, so 80's, but, life

Free Form

Just another rant, another stream of unconscious nothingness.
Our President has now tried to say that the economy is fine, on it's way back, I guess someone told him that talking it down wasn't working, we don't want socialism.
Phil finally won at Doral, but was quoted in the papers as wanting Tiger closer at the end...yeah right.
Why do the birthdays of your children always make you feel older?
Local politics are relatively boring here in PA,, can't wait to change that!
The shoulder is improving, I should be laying stone by the end of the week.
Nothing more to say, really, that seems to be it.

Russia weighs Cuba, Venezuela bases: report

Not a whole lot to say as I do not have much confidence that our President will do anything about this, then, it scares the heck out of me that he will do something stupid to prove he is strong.

What have y'all done to my Country?

Kick. Them. Out. NOW.

Frankly, I am suprised that the White House objected to this:

The White House objected Thursday to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's description of the United States as a "deadbeat" donor to the world body.
Ban used the phrase Wednesday during a private meeting

The Un, whom we carry to the tune of 22% of thier funding, can get the heck out of this country, let France pick up 22$, or, better yet, Africa, they are the continent that uses the UN the most, let them pay for it.

We saw it coming

Obama's Poll Numbers Are Falling to Earth

This will be spun in some way I am sure, but I still love to see sentences like this:

Polling data show that Mr. Obama's approval rating is dropping and is below where George W. Bush was in an analogous period in 2001.

or this:

A detailed examination of presidential popularity after 50 days on the job similarly demonstrates a substantial drop in presidential approval relative to other elected presidents in the 20th and 21st centuries. The reason for this decline most likely has to do with doubts about the administration's policies and their impact on peoples' lives.

I guess we don't want socialism after all. Let us all hope now that he wants to be re-elected, that will further slow his insane policy pushes. Back to the Middle, oh-not-so-great-one!

Another Criminal in the Cleanest Administration EVER!

WASHINGTON - An employee of the D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer and a private contractor were charged with corruption Thursday after an FBI raid at the former office of one of President Obama's appointees, Vivek Kundra.

Kundra is on leave from his White House job until further details of the case become known, a White House source tells the Associated Press.

So is this the change we can believe in?

Gotta laugh at these things

So in the news today is the fact that:Global and Northern Hemisphere Tropical Cyclone Activity [still] lowest in 30-years WHich is not what we have been hearing from the AGW crowd. Of course, the science (that was once a 'consensus') is split over the whole hurricane connection. A simple google search of the terms Hurricane Activity Global Warming paints a very confusing picture. Science sites go both ways, of course NOAA claims that hurricanes will increase due to AGW but we all know that that is only so they get more money.

Maybe now that the data shows that this AGW crap is not causing more storms the fanatics will move on...yeah, right.

More Cognative Dissonance

The Iraqi journalist who threw shoes at President George W. Bush was convicted yesterday

Okay, he was making a political statement, more power to the idiot. The problem with the reactions of the Arabs around the world, is that had he tossed a freakin shoe at Saddam Hussien, he would be DEAD right now. Had he even dared to speak out against the regime in Iraq prior to the American led liberation, he would be DEAD.

Ungrateful people, not all of the Iraqis, but this one for sure.

The Arab News article is full of stupid statements regardign how wonderful this guy is and how terrible the United States is...how can they look at themselse in the mirror after printing those lies?

A quick one

from a long time ago

When I was young, when the world was in a recession, I had a Job. This was the eighties, I was 16, washing dishes. The 'breakdown' was, to be honest, nuts. Every pot and pan, everything came to me, add to that the normal plates and glasses as well as all the other crap that needed done, and you had one busy teenager. I wouldn't change those hours for anything, I learned great habits, I learned that hard work was rewarded, if not by huge amounts of money, then by respect.

Now, in another recession, my 16 year old son has a job, my 14 year old son has a job and the 12 year old wants a job.

I love my life, I love most of the things I have done, and I love most of the people I have befriended, you know who you are.

We will persevere, we will come out of this strong, and our kids will learn the value of hard work.
Those libs? Not so much.

Gonna save it

I am simply linking this story here so I can come back to it in a few weeks, or months as the case may be, and reference the BS being spewed.

Signing Statement by Mr. Obama

So here we go, I wonder how quickly he will ignore this as he has ignored almost every other ethical promise he made in the last two years?

Democrats Suck

I'm sorry for the title, but it is true. One Sheriff in the Country is doing something about the illegal immigrants so the democrats call for him to be investigated for racial profiling and other stupid civil rights 'violations', uhhh, illegal immigrants have NO RIGHTS in this country, when will the democrats understand that? They are breaking the laws of the land, idiots, that is what illegal means.
Here is the link, go ahead and read it and feel sorry for the illegals, I dare you. Yanno what? Most of the illegal immigrants from Mexico look MEXICAN, heck, 75% of them either spot Mexican colors or a Mexican flag on their houses and cars, so of course it would make sense to check people who look Mexican for immigration status.
No job? Blame the dems who want to keep all the illegals here (and George Bush as well).

Juxtaposition

So, many people are prdicting the end of the world, Al Gore blames it on AGW, the left eats it up. Mr. Obama blames it on Bush, the left eats it up. A Famed pastor predicts imminent catastrophe and I am sure the left, and the Media will label this guy a freak.
I think that they are all freaks, that is my observation. The end is not near, tough times are near. Life has been tough for Billions for a long time, we in America have NO FREAKING IDEA what it is like to live poor, not one iota. I don't have a clue. When I was 'poor' I had water, food, a car, a roof, school for the kids, and friends. I was poor by American standards, it was tough, and I am full of crap.
Tough is walking for water, tough is no roof, no education, and waiting for food.
Grow up everyone, just because you can't buy a new car this year, or can't go to the next Micheal Jackson concert (while I can still afford to go see the Dead), there is no reason to panic. I notice the Baseball season has not been canceled, nor have salaries dropped. I notice that Football teams are still paying players millions of dollars...sure, bad depression, real bad.
When we all have to scrounge for food, then I will admit that times are bad, until then, skipping a few Starbucks trips is not a sacrifice.

WOW

I think this works, not sure. Anyway, it was over at Crouchy Old Cripple, I enjoy that site, like I enjoy Gotta Get Drunk First. They may not be family oriented, but they also pull no punches. I think Denny at GOC got this from Black Five, a site I go to sparingly, but I do hit every once in a while. There are many conservative blogs on the net, some are rated g, some PG (like this one) and others are rated R. Try them all, we can learn from the information out there!

I am not trying to piggyback on the work of those other blogs, I am just trying to send a little traffic their way. Some of my readers will enjoy them, others will not, but remember, it will take all kinds to take back the Country.

Conneting the dots

I am not normally a conspiricy nut, but this is getting awful close to reality to not have merit. First, there are many people who are accusing the left of using the Cloward-Piven strategy to create the need for socialism in America. The idea was to create a crisis with welfare and then show that the way is was set up (in the 60's) was not working and we would have to revamp our entire system. Defined as

* Strategy for forcing political change through orchestrated crisis

this process has not worked quite as well as the authors of it desired. So leftists created another crisis so they could use socialism to fix it, Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW), or human caused climate change depending on the day.
This is a false crisis and any search of the word myth and AGW will lead to a host of scientists who debunk the AGW claims.
Okay, so how do the two come together? Here is how:

Never waste a good crisis, Clinton says on climate

I had to read the article to see if the headline was true of if Reuters was trying to play to the right for a change, well, here is her quote:

Clinton told young Europeans at the European Parliament global economic turmoil provided a fresh opening: "Never waste a good crisis ... Don't waste it when it can have a very positive impact on climate change and energy security."

Of course Reuters did not connect the dots, they continued on as if this was a wonderful thing for Mrs. Clinton to say.
Now I am begining to believe that the Clintons want to rule the world, not just the US and they are using Obama as a front in that endeavor.

Some Ozzy to mess with people

This is socialism

Wake up America, this is what happens when you elect a socialist:

Venezuela's Hugo Chavez tightens state control of food amid rocketing inflation and food shortages
President Hugo Chavez is tightening state control over Venezuela's food supply, setting quotas for food staples which are to be sold at government-imposed prices.

Our leftists love this man, he is a man of the people, so they say, they flock to be at his side.
There is 30% inflation in that country, BECAUSE of socialism, the farmers can not produce the food at the prices he is forcing them to accept.
Damn it people, it has not worked, ever, anywhere, at anytime.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...the left is insane.

easy post

Madoff: NYC Penthouse, $62 Million Are Mine
Disgraced Money Manager Claims Place Where He Lives Under House Arrest Should Not Be Subject To Seizure

Ummmm, NO

Insanity

Ballarino said he similarly forwards jabs at other communities. "I get jokes and I send them. I get redneck jokes. I get Irish jokes. I get Italian jokes."

I am not posting the link, or discussing this because I think the idiot quoted above is right, I think the NAACP is wrong.
Jokes are just that, jokes. If a person, or a group, can not take a joke, then they have the problem, not the teller. If the joke is over some line to some person, well, that person has every right to be offended.
That person does not have the right to not be offended, not in America.
The NAACP, of course, has the right to protest this guy, over his jokes, but maybe the time would be better spent going after people who make racist statements in nationally televised speeches, oh, maybe like:
"Just as black anger often proved counterproductive, so have these white resentments"

Anger and resentment, they are not equal, they were juxtaposed for a reason, and that reason was racist. The speaker should have used the same word for both races, if he was honestly trying to heal past wounds, but he was not, he was hoping those wounds would fester a little more, so his wife could finally be proud, so he could be elected President.

We will never get past race in this country until the grievance mongers get past race in this country.

More clenched fists

It seems that Mr. Obama is being perceived as weak by the rest of the world. This sucks because we all saw it coming, well, those of us that cared saw it as a problem, those on the left, where appeasement is all the rage, thought the weakness was a reason to elect the empty suit.
'Haggling,' however, was not 'productive,' Medvedev said.
So Mr. Obama offers to surrender our missile defenses, Russia says, okay, but on our terms. I will post the response of our President, if he shows mettle, I will support him, if not, I will rip him a little more.

Model it for me???

I think not. It seems that at lingerie shops in Saudi Arabia, only men may work as sales-people.
This would ruin the tactic of an old friend of mine who used to garner sympathetic smiles from the hot sales girls at Victoria's Secret. He liked to ask the girls to try on the lingerie, since they looked to be about his girlfriends size. I know of no time that this ever worked.

Okay, I didn't post this to prove that at one time I was immature and had immature friends, I think we were 16 or 17 when we were ogling the lingerie. The point is that this practice in SA is insane.
Remember, this is a place where women are banned from driving and must not leave the house without a male escort.
What struck me from the article was that things may be opening up, there is a law on the books (in a drawer) that allows women to work in those shops, it just is not enforced. This cause is being championed on FaceBook, maybe technology will help bring SA at least a little closer to he 21st century.

Deal with devils

In return for empty promises our President vows to make us weaker, as well as abandon decades long allies in Europe.
Obama 'ready to drop shield plans for Russian help on Iran'
Insanity, those missiles protect US bases as well as European countries, those missiles keep Russia honest, and those missiles will be the only defense WHEN Iran loads an atomic weapon onto a missile supplied by Russia:

"Last year (2005), Russia surpassed the United States as the developing world’s leader in arms deals, according to a new report by the Congressional Research Service (CRS). But Russia has increased military shipments to anti-U.S. states like Iran and Venezuela,"

So, once again we need to decide if Mr. Obama is naive or if he truly wants to weaken America. There will be a point in time, if we are still asking this question, when the answer will be very obvious.

Jus me

Once again, I am going to just vent a little, give you my mind. We elected a socialist, there should be no surprise that he is trying hard to destroy the country. I have not decided if he really wants America to fail or if he is so arrogant that he thinks that he is the One to make a proven to fail system to work, after hundreds of attempts.
Yeah, whatever.
The world is a strange place, and I have strange ideas, but I love my family, my friends, and nothing political will change that. Americans, no, Humans have this intense need to belong, to be a part of something, and to be needed. That is a fact, it can not be argued. We need to love to survive, no matter who we are.
Television sucks, it grabs you and draws you in, and the next thing you know 5 hours have passed and you can't even remember what Rachel Ray was making that was so interesting.
I wonder if this recession is going to force people to stay in their homes longer, giving me many walls and patios to build, or if people are just going to go broke and not spend anything.
Fist bumps, soul patches, piercings in odd places drive me nuts. I can deal with tattoos, to a point, I can deal with the ears being pierced, but lips? Tongues? Noses? get real...sorry, that is my opinion. You are not being edgy, you are following the crowd, you have not made any statement other than you want to be like everyone else.
This is like those leftist art installments that degrade Christianity, it's been done people, why not try to be really edgy and do the same to Islam? Oh, that's right, 'cause you will be killed.
Anyway, Y'all have a great week, I'll try to get out of the non-politic funk tomorrow.

the budget proposal

Sure is pretty, all dolled up and reading like another campaign speech.

If you have to sell it, something is wrong.
If you need to add sugar, it must be bad.
I am done with discussing this for a while, it is driving me nuts. He truly does not get it, he thinks that he can get an 'A' for a pretty paper, can fix things with a pretty speech. He is wrong, it takes more than that.

Say hello to a long recession

One of the worst things to do when the economy is bad is to raise taxes on those that produce; not only things but jobs. So, what does our President do? He plans on raising taxes on those that produce.
Obama's Budget: Almost $1 Trillion in New Taxes Over Next 10 yrs, Starting 2011

DO not be fooled by that date, just having this knowledge out there will force Businesses to either simply close, or, more likely, head to a country that has a much better tax structure.

Can't. Write. More. Head. Hurts

Sickening

We knew this was coming, another campaign lie by Obama, this lie directed at the right. He claimed he had respect for the first amendment, and now is going to attack guns.
First, reinstate the 'assault weapons' ban that Clinton enacted. Remember, the ban that included many hunting rifles? Insanity. oh, and it wouldn't be an attack on the first amendment with out the bull-crap rhetoric:
"I think closing the gun show loophole, the banning of cop-killer bullets and I also think that making the assault weapons ban permanent

Now, however, there is a new reason. It is to save those poor Mexican drug dealers from killing each other. Really, I am not making this up.
Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border
.

I have an idea, let Mexico worry about Mexican drug dealers killing each other in Mexico, and if the guns are streaming across the border from the US, well, let Mexico build a fence. Seriously, build a wall so nothing can come into Mexico from America.
On last shot at the obvious lies:

with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades

Those things are already illegal to buy in America, this ban will not change that.

Interesting question

I was asked an interesting question last night, time to address it I guess.
hell is it real or just pr from the church to keep you in line?

rather deep, sure, but one that is easy to answer, and, impossible to answer at the same time. The quick answer is yes, hell is a warning by religious leaders, there most likely is not a physical place called hell out behind Jupiter or in the center of the earth. Religions, all of them, tend to promise a reward for being good and a punishment for being bad, much like life.
If we breathe (good) we live. If we forget to breathe (bad) we die. Same goes for eating and sleeping. Then, as we become more cerebral, there are other innate goods and bads, or right/wrong. These are inbred, things like avoiding the rattle of a snake, not jumping off big buildings, not insulting an Eagles Linebacker in a bar.

Now, death sucks, it is the end, and so many people are afraid to die that others realized it would be a good idea to simply teach that death was not a bad thing, in one way or another we simply changed planes of existence. This has been taught in many ways, reincarnation, joining the Gods, Heaven and others. Ascribing this life after death to everyone didn't keep people from doing bad stuff until it was decided that humans could be even more controlled if living actions determined the after-life qualities. Hence, hell, or coming back as a bug, or instead of being a God, being a tree. So that is the simple version, the easy way out.
Now, for me, personally, not as easy to vocalize. Hell is not something that happens after death, it is right here, right now, as is Heaven. These words, as shown above, cover all the aspects of each religion, don't pigeon hole me into just one. If life is lived in a manner that would please your fellow man, chances are it would also please God, hence, Heaven. If life is lived in a manner that truly hurts others, then, well, internal hell. Everyone I have ever met that lived honestly in a manner that was proscribed by a deity was a happy person, those who pretended to live that life were miserable, and those that chose to live in opposition to were rudderless. Rudderless is neither sad nor happy, but existing, breathing, and living day to day in a manner that denotes survival, but not fulfillment.
I am not preaching any one goal, just pointing out that those who pick one, stick to it, and live it, are pretty happy people (the honest ones.)
For instance, a christian that judges others based on a choice of worship is not an honest christian, that person has missed the teachings of the Old testament. That person will not be happy.
Or, someone who is reincarnated in a higher caste must have been good in a previous life or if that person is not good in this life, the caste level will drop. All of this must be done honestly.
I mentioned honesty quite a bit, and am off the Hell topic pretty far, but they go together. Try it, think back to the last lie you told...how did you feel? Honestly, how did you feel? Were you proud of yourself for lying?
Thought not. Now, think back to the last time you felt pride for someone other than yourself, how did you feel?
Welcome to heaven.
Oh, and the worst lies to tell are those we tell ourselves.

Mr. Obama, you are the President, stop campaigning

Stocks fall as Obama fails to deliver details

I had to give up on watching it live, it was too much like everything we had been hearing the last year or more.

Oh, and if a man that was a sitting Senator complains about inheriting this mess one more time, I might just puke. Either he is admitting that he did nothing while in the Senate or he has no clue as to how Government works. He had the power, was in the party in power since 2006, and gee whiz, that is when it really began to get bad.

Please sir, stop campaigning and tell us something detailed, no more hope, no more change, this is reality.

Live blogging the speech

Here we go,
Even my 15 year old son understands the applause is over the top, and now it happens again.
I think Pelosi is gonna break a cheek
Now applause for the woman who hates America
why?
Oh, for respect, sorry, she gets that.
Economy first, and life is horrible, Why? positive please.
Pelosi needed to see her copy to know when to clap, I wonder if he is going to install applause signs
How can you take responsibility for the future when you just mortgaged it.
Blaming and looking bakwards AGAIN.
Here we go, let us blame the past.
Imported oil is due to the Democrats
Schools fail due to Democrats
debt is due to Democrats.

He is campainging, I am turning it off.

One good thing

House Democrats propose $410B spending bill

There is one good thing in this bill, a reversal of a policy that was created under Clinton and enacted under Bush, that of the free run on Mexican trucks into our cities.
In another change, the legislation bans Mexican-licensed trucks from operating outside commercial zones along the border with the United States. The Teamsters Union, which supported Obama's election last year, hailed the move.

Of course the rest of the bill is socialist crap, including loosening restrictions on travel to Cuba, but in the spirit of intellectual honesty I had to give credit for the one thing they got right.

The article does attempt to push the blame for the insane idea of Mexican trucks in America onto the Bush administration when it clearly was a part of NAFTA which was started in 1994.

Hypocrisy still

I noticed couple of things the other day, and it did not really sink in till it was mentioned by a friend earlier today. The first thing is that the new moniker for black people is African-American. The incredible arrogance involved in this notwithstanding, why then do we not celebrate African-American History Month? Tongue in cheek, sure, but the premise merits inspection.
It is not African-American History Month because some of the Black Historical figures are not from Africa. Did all blacks originate in Africa? Who knows, there are many pre-historic skeletons scattered about the globe, we still do not know for sure where man began. I personally am pretty sure the origination of man was somewhere in the fertile valley between the Euphrates and the Tigris rivers.
Anyway, that was a little off topic, so back to it. Black people are not the ones who changed the moniker, guilty white liberals did that, as they have done for years.
I actually thought the first black President would maybe have mentioned that the need for a separate special month of history for one race was wrong, but we all know that is not going to happen, 20 years listening to one of the most racist preachers in the country would make anyone racist too.
So, maybe he will institute an Irish History month instead, or an Italian History month. If not, why not?
I must have had a great education in the West Chester Area School District because even way back in the 1970's, before the advent of these special months, we learned about blacks in history.
We will never get past the racial crap in this country until some of the issues I have discussed here are taken care of.
First, shut up about it, equality happens when we do it with out being guilted into it or shamed into it.
Second, get rid of affirmative action, the worst thing we can do to a person is tell them they will never succeed without special dispensation.
Third, stop liberals from blaming white people for all the ills in the black community. Many years ago there were reasons to blame whites, not any more, now, we must figure out why the rate of single parent births are higher, why violence is higher and why drop-out rates are higher in black communities.
When all of the above is honestly discussed, not simply glossed over, we may become a country that really understands that all men are created equal.

Reuters, still carrying water for Obama

The passage of the massive bill -- the largest fiscal stimulus in U.S. history -- marked a huge victory for Obama.

I have been through this, time and again, a big win would not have "...highlighted partisan division in Washington after it passed the U.S. Congress with only three Republican votes."

Maybe I am crazy, but a huge victory is when you change the minds of the other side. I once told a muscle bound laborer who wanted to kick my ass that kicking my ass would not make him right, I may be hurt, but I would still be right. Luckily I had more buddies on the job site than he did, so I did not get my ass kicked. Oh, was that a huge win for me?

No, that was having more people on my side, no one had a huge win...and again, IT WAS NOT A HUGE WIN, it barely passed in the Senate, needed three turn-coat republicans to pass.

Fox in the Hen House

Arab League in Gaza to document Israeli war crimes

C'mon, even the Jew hating Human Rights Watch had to admit the human rights violations of Hamas this time around, just way too obvious. Launching rockets from schools, yeah, that's not a bad thing. Admittedly targeting civilians? Nah, no problems there.

Important---Ignored

There are things that happen in the world, things that are said that are ignored by those who should not be ignoring them.

Like this for instance:

The fact is that Tehran and Caracas are on the right track in the path of God and humanitarian goals, he said.
"Fortunately, we are now witnessing that the fronts of our enemies have been weakened to a large extent," President Ahmadinejad said.
Once only Cuba and Venezuela were active in the fight against global arrogance but today a number of nations have joined the stiff struggle, he pointed out.

This worries me, Venezuela, a communist country (almost) and Iran, a fascist country (yes), working together to destroy America. Actively working together, not just rhetoric. That bomb that Iran is working on, I hear from the left in America that Iran should have a protective nuke, and besides, they have no missiles that can reach America. Well, they do if that missile is launched from Venezuela, or from Cuba.

Wake up people, they want us all dead or, worse, communist, or even worse, muslim.

20 seconds in, the most impressive sound in the world!

The End?

Happy

Great week upcoming, it is the end of my 42nd year and it has been one of my best. Really, you say...yup. Each year with this family, each minute I spend living the way I am living now is incredible. I used to wonder what it was like to be happy, I have known the full answer these last 9 years, I have know most of the answer for 16 years. The answer is simple really, to be happy, choose to be happy. A very good friend of mine once told me that if things seem bad, someone else has them worse. I know he meant that I not to revel in the misery of others, but that I was to be content with what I had.
I am.
Thank you.

Still campaigning

President Barack Obama ordered the U.S. Treasury on Saturday to implement tax cuts for 95 percent of Americans, fulfilling a campaign pledge he hopes will help jolt the economy out of recession.

Do I really need to point out that the number of people who pay taxes in America does not even begin to tickle 80%, let alone 95%?

This is more rhetoric by the empty suit.
The funny thing is the article goes on to discuss the record number of unemployed, "...With tens of thousands of Americans losing their jobs...", and the rate at about 7%, even if every american worked (babies, old people, sick people) there would still only be 93% left to get a tax cut.

Why is he still campaigning?

Confused

The left, which calls for equality all the time, who are the reason we have to write he/she, the reason we have to call actresses actors and waitresses servers (yeah, those three things really make sense when together in a sentence, don't they?), have now succeeded in lowering the equality bar once again.
George Mason picks drag queen as homecoming queen

How has the bar been lowered you ask? Well, now all men at George Mason can compete in normally women only activities. Men can enter the rest rooms set aside for women, and all men can not take advantage of the title IX provisions. If not, is not George Mason discriminating against straight men? By allowing a special exception for a gay MAN, did not George Mason violate the civil rights act of 1964?
Please, men are men, gay or not, they are still men. If not, well, then the argument that gay men are the same as straight men kinda flies out the window.

Intellectual Honesty people, try it out.

Intellectual Honesty

So here we go, something that was lacking for the last eight years. When Mr. Bush did something wrong, that I thought was too far left, or simply bad for the country, I called him on it, but those on the left continued to disparage the man. That side of the political spectrum seems to be filled with children who cannot give credit where credit is due.
Okay, maybe I am being smug, but shoot, Mr. Obama is the President of my country, if he makes a decision I agree with, I will commend him on it, maybe if enough of his political enemies commend him when he makes a decision that is important for the safety of us all, he will at least swing a little right in terms of national security.
Today, the administration "...shocked human rights attorneys." Even the headline for the arrticle was designed to raise the ire of the left (Obama backs Bush: No rights for Bagram prisoners)...funny that, I guess they eat their own too if they do not tow the line, much like a thread at Kos or DU. comparing Mr. Obama to Mr. Bush must have heads exploding on the left-wing blogs!
For those lefties that read this, please, take no personal offense, it is just that I have been banned from both of those sites for quoting Al Gore, for quoting Barak Obama, for quoting facts. Seriously, I have been BANNED for not being a part of the echo chamber politically.
I will not block you here, dear leftist, post away, keep it clean though, that will get you removed, this is a family type blog.

I am going to keep plugging

I am not going to let those who have screamed global warming for so long to forget it started as global warming.

Arctic Sea Ice Underestimated for Weeks Due to Faulty Sensor

Global warming is a fraud, climate change is real, and it happens all the time, it is NOT caused by humans, it has never been caused by humans, and chances are it will never be caused by humans. This is simply a way for communist, socialist, left wing idiots to try to gain power.

They have been doing this for years, as long as I have been alive (the first earth day sported signs about the next ice age, dooming the earth due to human caused cooling), and they will not stop, ever.

It is a religion to them, I have mentioned this before, with all the trappings of a religion. They have sin>>burning fossil fuels, they have redemption>>carbon credits, they have a Messiah>>Al Gore, and they have the dooms-day scenario>>Oceans rising.

Well, I want no part of it, it is a sham, and I will not let the left forget it started as global warming, and in 20 years, when the left is screaming about the next ice age, I will point to all my posts predicting they will be screaming about ice ages in 20 years.

This is getting funny

this would be real funny if it wasn't straight from the political machine that gave us our current President.

Illinois gov.: Burris should resign from Senate

What a mess that Chicago scene is!

Why? Why do they lie to us?

for years, George Bush has been saying that Iran is trying to enrich plutonium to build a bomb, for yeas the leftists in America, at the UN, and around the world have been saying that this was not true. So how come the head line today reads:

Iran holds enough uranium for bomb

This is insane, absolutely insane. Cognitive dissonance, lies, hopes, whatever you want to call it, it sucks. When will people realize that there is scum in the world, that not all people are likable, that not everyone wants to sit around a campfire singing kum-by-ya?

I am off to bed now, this ticks me off, I knew it was coming, I knew the UN was lying all along, I am not surprised at all, but I am extremely mad, mad at those who live in this country and do everything the can to undermine it, including mocking the President of the last eight years.

I will not mock Mr. Obama, I will disagree with him.

People should take a minute and go to Daily KOS and search the term 'chimpy', they might be surprised. The compassionate left is a myth.

I did it for you, back only 6 months...

Those are the left wing posters calling the sitting President of the United States a Chimp. Over and over, for years it has been done.

Now, some stupid cartoon....

oh well, the world is backwards, Iran will have a nuke, then, when Israel is wiped off the map, as promised by the President of Iran, the leftists will act surprised.

At least the author catches the lie

Here is an article where the headline is true, even if inside the main character is caught lying. And the writer catches it, even if it is only with the headline.

E.P.A. Expected to Regulate Carbon Dioxide

So, we all expected that, a global warming alarmist is in charge of the EPA. Here is the lie:
Lisa P. Jackson, the new E.P.A. administrator, said in an interview that she had asked her staff to review the latest scientific evidence and prepare the documentation for a so-called endangerment finding. Ms. Jackson said she had not decided to issue such a finding

This is in regard to a Supreme Court order to determine if the substance we exhale is a pollution. Seems to me that the answer would be no, but then again, if we breathe to much of it, we die. Hmmm, but if there is not enough of it, all the trees die...but trees make oxygen, no oxygen, we die. See, this is harder than it seems folks, it is a good thing she is not ready to make a...oh, wait a minute, read further in the article:
If the environmental agency determines that carbon dioxide is a dangerous pollutant to be regulated under the Clean Air Act, it would set off one of the most extensive regulatory rule makings in history. Ms. Jackson knows that she would be stepping into a minefield of Congressional and industry opposition and said that she was trying to devise a program that allayed these worries.

“We are poised to be specific on what we regulate and on what schedule,” Ms. Jackson said. “We don’t want people to spin that into a doomsday scenario.”

Poised to be specific, on something she is not ready to suggest. Interesting to say the least.

No, we talk too much about race

Our wonderful attorney general has called us cowards in matters of race relations. First of all, BITE ME.
Secondly, sir, you are a member of the administration that was supposed to transcend race, not beat it to death, again.
In a speech to Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Holder said the workplace is largely integrated but Americans still self-segregate on the weekends and in their private lives.

"Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards," said Holder, nation's first black attorney general.

Once again, the AP manages to present two opposing views in two paragraphs. We don't talk about race, especially during BLACK HISTORY MONTH. Juxtapose much?
Now, personally, I think we talk about it too much, we think about it too much, and people like Mr. Holder are the ones who continue pushing racism on us. This supposedly intelligent guy as not figured out that we are tired of the race baiting, tired of being called names, and tired of the lies.

"White House: Obama Opposes 'Fairness Doctrine' Revival..."

So, now to go read the article. Okay the following is the meat of the short article:
"As the president stated during the campaign, he does not believe the Fairness Doctrine should be reinstated," White House spokesman Ben LaBolt said.

That was after both senior adviser David Axelrod and White House press secretary Robert Gibbs left open the door on whether Obama would support reinstating the doctrine.

There is ambiguity here, the statement does not say that the President would veto a bill that included the fairness doctrine. Saying he does not think it should be reinstated and saying he would veto are two very different things.

this leaves it up to the socialists in congress to decide.
Do we trust them not to gut the first amendment?

Will it stop?

I know the stimulus is bad, all of the financial managers I have talked to know it is bad, and the market knows it is bad, it was bouncing around at 8,000, a nice solid bottom, till the stimulus happened, now who knows how low it will go.
My question is: The republicans in Congress know it is bad, do the Democrats really think it is a good thing? Are they that blind? Or do they also know it is bad and just do not care, anything to push socialism?
Which is it?

Connecting the dots the media won't

So, our state department thinks the vote in Venezuela is a good thing
The career diplomats in the state department finally have a socialist in the White House, they must be so happy. 46% of the people in Venezuela did not want Chavez to be President for life, who knows how the others were coerced, but our state department says:
Clay said that after the vote, "it is important that elected officials now focus on governing democratically and addressing the issues of concern to the Venezuelan people.

Yeah, that is going to happen.
An emboldened Hugo Chávez vowed to speed up “the construction of true socialism” in Venezuela after winning the right to stand for reelection indefinitely – a measure that opponents say puts the country on the path to dictatorship.

I am a 43 year old college drop out, how come I know that this is what the result would be and our state department pretends it didn't know this? Are we as Americans supposed to be that stupid? really?

FIrst CA now KS

This seems to me to be illegal, keeping tax refunds because the government overspent. I wonder if they will offer penalties and interest to those who are being held up in this manner? That is what would happen for sure if the shoe was on the other foot.
Hey, how about the state employees that are not going to be paid, how are they going to be able to pay their taxes?
Read the comments at the article, it seems that more people are catching on to this socialism stuff.

Cognitive Dissonance

I a trying very hard to reconcile the following two paragraphs, and wondering just why the author of the piece does not mention the insanity of the position taken. Groundwork: The secretary of state is in Japan, talking about nuclear proliferation.

During her plane trip, she implicitly criticized the Bush administration for abandoning the so-called 1994 Agreed Framework with North Korea, reached during President Bill Clinton's first term in the White House, which called for the North to give up its plutonium-based weapons program.

The framework collapsed when the Bush team accused Pyongyang of maintaining a separate highly enriched uranium program, about which Secretary Clinton said there was still great debate. As a result, she said, the North had restarted and accelerated its plutonium program, allowing it to build a nuclear device that it had detonated in 2006.

Maybe I am nuts, but the entire world knows that the North Koreans never stopped the weapons program:
Shortly after signing the (1994) agreement, North Korea began seeking nuclear weapons fuel through uranium enrichment.

Mrs. Clinton is lying, just like her husband (he was found in contempt of court for lying under oath), and just like President Obama.

this guy read my blog!

I posted below that President Obama was doing more harm to the economy than was necessary with his lies, now an actual journalist agrees with me!
Obama's Rhetoric Is the Real 'Catastrophe'

He even uses that same argument that I did, that 1982 was worse than now and to say that this is the worst since 1930 is a flat out lie, used for simple political gain.
The latest survey pegs U.S. unemployment at 7.6%. That's more than three percentage points below the 1982 peak (10.8%) and not even a third of the peak in 1932 (25.2%). You simply can't equate 7.6% unemployment with the Great Depression.

So I am not nuts, I just wish more people would research this, would figure out that our President is a socialist bent on taking my money and giving to to someone who did not work for it.

This is what the left thought Bush was going to do

It is not a conservative notion to become a dictator for life, that is the purvey of leftists. It is the way socialists rule, and it is the way communists rule. Why is it the leftists in this country try to claim conservatives are fascists when it is obvious to anyone who can think that it is the communists and socialists that have killed the most humans under the guise of national security. Now, Venezuela is doomed, Chavez will simply use the same thuggish tactics to remain President for life. He will become another Castro, another Stalin, another Saddam Hussein, killing his own people to remain in power, it is the way of the left.
Chavez has already been in power for 10 years and the referendum vote helps clear the way for him to fulfill his declared goal of ruling for decades,

This is the man who insulted our President and then was applauded by leftist citizens. Wait, just wait, when some two-bit dictator from some backwards country insults President Obama I will be the the first to stand up and...fight for him. I do not agree with him, I think he is a socialist and is bad for this country, I am allowed to say that, not some idiot from down south, or some Arab from across the sea. Like him or not, he is our President, and I respect the office. It is a shame that the same can not be said for the democrats in this country.

How do they say this stuff wihtout laughing?

Saudi Arabia, the most backwards rich nation on the earth. Check this out:
He also said that segregation makes it easier for women in the Kingdom to reach high leadership positions. There are more women in key positions in the country than in developed countries, he added.

Then, in two paragraphs we get to the heart of the article, yanno, just what the article is about:“This is not just about having the first woman deputy minister."

Okay, one one hand, complete segregation, including no right to drive a car or even be outside without a chaperon, and some idiot saying that is a good thing for women. Then we find out that just now, in 2009, there is the very first woman deputy minister.

That place is not on my list of travel destinations.

A Win?

the media is trying hard to make this look good, even NPR this morning called it a win. Funny, when George Bush managed to get the No Child Left Behind passed, with both parties voting for it, it was not called a win.

Oh well that is sour grapes, not worth my time, here is the headline:

Obama has first big win in Congress

This is a Comcast headline and they are calling it a major victory. Not even close, sure, he 'won' in that the pork fest passed, but it was a one sided game to begin with. I complained on this blog about that basketball team that won 100 to nothing because the other team was simply not nearly as good, they did not even score a point. Heck, most of the country would not have called that a "major win", but when the administration rams through a bill that passes on pure party line (if you exclude the 7 democrats that voted NO), it is the same exact thing. Had Mr. Obama and Pelosi managed to get just one Republican, I would be willing to give him a slight victory, but no, nothing, and he, and his party are proud of how they 'trounced' the other side, well, they only won because they have more players in the field.

Fairness?

First of all, listen to to what was asked of Bill Clinton by an admitted liberal radio host. Seriously, don't take my word for it, hear it. The host is proud to ask Mr. Clinton if there should be "enforced ,media accountability." Mr. Clinton called for the return of the fairness doctrine or some other form of balance. I find it amazing that a man who swore to uphold the constitution of the United States would call for the return of something that abridged free speech. No one wants to listen to Liberal radio, Air America failed, NPR needs to be federally subsidized, and those smaller liberal shows such as the one above rarely are picked up for national syndication because the numbers are not there.
Now, to be honest, Liberals have most of the tv stations and a huge majority of the print media. I have always wondered why this doctrine does not seem to be aimed at those avenues and why this doctrine is now being pushed by liberals. I won't say this is being pushed by democrats as I am sure, unlike the stimulus pork fest, many democrats would opposed this forced censorship.
Forcing a radio station to carry certain programming, at the expense of other programming is exactly the same as forcing a library to carry certain books at the expense of other books.
That is a road I am sure all but the most tyrannical liberals or conservatives want to go down.

Honesty on the floor

Somebody had to say it, there are many Americans thinking it.

Perhaps

Perhaps this is another sign that Mr. Obama will not be able to completely install socialism.

The bill was passed 246-183 with no Republican help.

The democrats own this particular fiasco, there is no way to pin this to anyone else. This pork laden, socialistic boondoggle belongs to Mr. Obama, simple as that. Even the slobbering media can not blame the fall out from this on anyone but Mr. Obama.

Awesome

GREGG WITHDRAWS AFTER POLICIES TOO MUCH TO STOMACH

Another republican with conviction, finally...I see this as the begining, no, the complete shut-out on the stimulus in the house was the begining, this is a continuation of the resurgence of the party.

I have faith.

No links, no proof, just me

I am tired, it has been a long day. Okay, not too long, I managed to get up off the couch around 8, ran a son to school, went to Physical Therapy, did the taxes, ran a child to swim practice, wrote a short essay for school, and now it is midnight. I guess there was some other stuff in there, but not much. See, that is life, I avoided the news, I checked in at about 4:25 to see how the DOW went, it went up a little, but other than that, I stayed away from other sources.
I need to find a place that provides happy news, not silly stuff like our President comforting a homeless woman, or an actress breast-feeding a starving kid in Africa. We all know that neither one of those people truly cares about the photo-ops, and tomorrow that woman will still be homeless and that baby will still be starving.
No, I want news that makes me smile, that reinforces my love for America.
At a trade show yesterday the presenter bemoaned the economy, I was about to get up a walk out, I didn't need the dismal stuff, but he surprised me. This hardscaper from West Virginia said:
It's tough, it's hard to make sales for you contractors, but, together we can do this. Together we can make the sales we need to make to bring ourselves out of this situation. We can help each other, and we can win.

I sure do wish the politicians in Washington had been at that show.
