The Speech part two

So as promised, here is my take on today. Our new President gets a pass on the flub between he and Chief Justice Roberts. I am not gonna link, by now anyone reading this has seen the flub. The speech, well, he needs a proofreader, one that can count. He is the 43rd man to have taken that oath, Cleavland took it twice but there was a term in between. The Valley Forge reference was in 1777, not 1776 although the words were written in 1776. Those a nit-picky,but they are things that should not have made it into a speech this huge. It jumped out at me right away that the dates were wrong, as far as the 44/43 number, that came in a phone call from my brother.

The rest of the speech was more campaigning, he is running for 2012 already. One statement, or rather one paragraph did give me some...hope...that was when he called out the radical muslims and the leaders of those radical muslim states. He also admitted that we are at war with terrorists, I imagine there were heads exploding over at Kos and DU.

"On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics."

That line ticked me off, no one was more divisive in the campaign than Mr. Obama, what with all his racist statements and allowing his followers to abuse Governor Palin and Senator Clinton based on their sex. He fans the flames of division based on income as well, and according to much of what he says, he promises to continue to do so.

The left has pushed the false dogma of Gorebul warming, and it was Mr. Obama in Philly who pointedly used the words Anger and Resentment. Is he gonna 'change' now?

But the rest of it was fluff, no concrete ideas, no real attempt to bind us together, rather more pointing out how different we all were.

Gonna be a bumpy ride.
